Sylph Black . 26. Female. Pilot . Heterosexual . Zephyr City
— It's in the blood, it's in the blood
PERSONALITY
Sylph's personality is rather... Conflicting. On one side, and indeed, the surface, she seems a kind, and compassionate, if a little grim, sort of person: The kind of person who says a lot of rather dark things, but never seems to mean them, and certainly, never seems to do anything about them.
The other side of her seems a little disconnected. With the world, her situation, and people in general, really. Whilst she can be reasonably sociable with people - Chatty, even, but she feels that, with all her prosthetic limbs, she can relate more to machines than people. This is not particularly noticeable, at least at first, until people get to know her, and perhaps walk in on her a few times, perhaps when she's cleaning her mech, or fiddling with a Mechanoid (not that she's a great engineer: She just likes to see how things work), and they'd see a more compassionate element in her treatment of them.
Perhaps stemming from her sense of disconnection, is her ferocity when she pilots her Tiger. It's almost as if she takes on some element of the thing into herself, and displays its emotions (but of course, that is impossible!), if it actually showed any asides from savagery. All that aside, it means that whilst she is skilled at piloting a mech, Sylph will fall for slightly obvious tricks, whether intentionally, or not...

BACKGROUND
Sylph comes from a family where history is highly prized: If one has a good background, then it is assumed that they have a beneficial nature. Of course, this way of thinking is rather flawed, and as her family moved from Coronet City to Zephyr City, it is rather outdated, too. because of this, her parents did not encourage socialising with neighbours, though Sylph, in her rebellious, teenage state at this time, did so anyway.
And indeed, instead of the well-bred socialite that her parents had intended, they got an ill-mannered pilot, instead. Now, whilst Sylph's family were well off, they were not rich, and Sylph's first mech turned out to be a small, caterpillar-looking thing (a humanoid mech had been out of the price range at that time), apparently called a 'Molga'. It was rather run-down, and its only weapon was a tiny, and ineffective machine gun, and a spike in its tail.
Of course, Sylph was not satisfied in simply owning a mech: She wanted to fight! However, her journey to Coronet was not exactly... Uneventful: She was ambushed by bandits, and her mech was destroyed: It blew up, if fact, and though she survived, she lost the majority of her limbs in the explosion. Her family, of course, were horrified, and paid for Sylph to get rather expensive mechanical limbs from the engineers in Coronet city. These limbs, whilst effective, were rather sharp-looking, and finished in angular metal.
This was probably the final straw for Sylph's abused parents: They gave up trying to make her socialise with the few people they approved of, and let her get a job. At this, Sylph was overjoyed: Working as a labourer for a construction company, she saved up enough to move into her own home, and eventually purchase (with the help of a rather large loan) the Brastle Tiger, a mech equipped with sturdy armour, and an ejection seat, crucially, though Sylph does admit that she doesn't have that much left to lose...
