Zane Narcyz. 30 . Male . Wasteland Bandit . Pansexual . Coronet City
— This thin man is starting to fade. You won't be living for long
PERSONALITY
Zane is not the sort of person you'd initially suspect of being a violent bandit: Indeed, you might think him a perfectly innocent, if a little crazy person. Certainly not the person who goes around stealing and slaughtering for a living. Not the sort of person who has a bounty on his head. Indeed, he gives off an air of refinement: He likes to pretend he's of some sort of noble background, to the point where his stiff formalities seem to creep into most of his speech, even if said speech is something along the lines of: "Give me your money!". When he's in the sort of mood that makes him want to pretend to be aristocracy, he can be decidedly gentler than otherwise.
Indeed, his personality can turn when his mind is 'on the job'. Zane is an extremely sadistic human being, and likes to scare his victims silly before even really doing anything. Indeed, this might be something to do with his slightly ragged appearance: Once you see past the forged finery, you get quite a different picture! Malnourished and downright cruel, Zane is not someone you'd likely cross and live to tell the tale...
— So, just fly with me, die with me, babe. They all swim while I drown.
BACKGROUND
Zane's parents, though he hardly knew them, were very poor people, despite the affluence of their family before the Domination War (and this, before many members of it know), as not many actually kept their wealth. Knowing that they couldn't afford to keep Zane - They could barely feed themselves, let alone a child - They sent him off to his uncle's, a man named Raven (a name he had given to himself: He was originally named Keith!) one of the few who had some wealth left.
As Zane would one day be, the uncle was, too, slightly obsessed with the notion of nobility and grandeur. He wanted the illusion of it in his household, and so, the tutors who were hired to teach Zane, when he was old enough to learn, were instructed to instil in him the essence of the aristocracy. This had a rather strange effect on young Zane. At first, he seemed to take it well. For many years, in fact, there was no hitch in the plan, but one day... One day, Zane snapped. Like the overload of expectations on him flipped a switch somewhere, and the abundance of information he was required to know slowly fragmented other, more important ideals, such as honesty, or obedience.
It wasn't very long after that when Zane, and quite a significant sum of money had gone missing: Seeing a news report one night, Zane had got it into his head that he was going to be a pilot! This... This went less well than planned. Zane bought his mech, a model named 'Epyon', and got it registered (not under his own name, though - Under his uncles, as he intended to give the registration bill to his uncle to deal with, so he could fight. Which is when the losing began, Now, at first, Zane put it down to bad piloting, but, as he was beaten time and time again, he rather began questioning the system. Was he being bullied? Had they discovered his fake ID, and were trying to oust him? In any case, Zane wasn't sticking around to find out!
However, this did present a bit of a problem: He could hardly go back to his uncle's now: He'd charged a mech and its registration fee to the man's accounts! He'd be shooed away before he even got near... Zane couldn't go back to the cities, either: Those... People were there. So, there was only one thing for it: Living in a settlement, or being a bandit. To Zane, being a bandit sounded much more appealing.
Thus began Zane's transformation from a wide-eyed youth, to a sadistic, Wasteland Bandit of an adult. He doesn't regret his choices in life though: If it weren't for them, he would still be a bullied little mech pilot. And that would be a tragedy.
— They just dig up the dirt and bury us into the ground.
